There are several scenarios where bringing in an interim Head of Architecture, Platform, or Engineering can be beneficial.

A senior leader may require time away from the business due to parental leave, illness, or a sabbatical. During this period, I can step into the role to maintain continuity of leadership, ensuring teams remain aligned and strategic initiatives continue to progress.

Cover While Hiring a Permanent Leader

Recruiting into senior technical leadership positions can take time, and organisations often want to avoid rushing such an important hire. An interim leader can provide stability during the recruitment process, ensuring the organisation continues to move forward until a permanent appointment is made.

Supporting the Transition of an Internal Promotion

In some cases, organisations wish to promote an internal candidate into a leadership role but recognise that the individual may benefit from additional experience or a phased transition.

In these situations, I can temporarily cover aspects of the role while mentoring the internal candidate and supporting a structured transition into full leadership responsibility.

Rates

Engagements can be structured on either an inside or outside IR35 basis, depending on the nature of the work and client requirements.

Day rates and commercial arrangements can be discussed following the initial scoping conversation.
